American Estimate Hub

Construction Estimating for California Projects

Remote estimating and quantity takeoffs for California projects, with attention to Title 24 energy, seismic design and CALGreen requirements.

California has some of the most detailed building requirements in the country. Title 24 energy standards, seismic design and CALGreen sustainability measures affect both quantities and pricing. American Estimate Hub prepares takeoffs and estimates for California contractors, subcontractors and owners from the digital plans and specifications you share.

We work remotely and do not have California offices, licenses or field staff. Our focus is on reading the documents carefully, capturing code-driven scope that is easy to miss, and stating assumptions clearly so your team can apply local labor and material pricing with confidence.

What shapes a California estimate

  • Title 24 energy standards: California Title 24, Part 6 energy requirements affect insulation, fenestration, lighting controls, mechanical efficiency and, for many building types, solar-ready or solar provisions. We quantify these items as shown in the drawings and compliance documentation so they are not lost in general scope.
  • Seismic design and detailing: Seismic requirements drive shear walls, hold-downs, collectors, moment frames and special inspection items. We take off shear wall lengths and nailing types, hardware counts, and steel connections from the structural drawings, and we note items that depend on deferred submittals.
  • CALGreen requirements: The California Green Building Standards Code (CALGreen) adds requirements such as construction waste diversion, EV charging infrastructure and water-efficient fixtures. Where drawings and specifications address these items, we include them as separate lines.
  • Prevailing wage on public work: Public works projects in California generally require prevailing wage rates and related reporting. If you request a priced estimate, tell us whether prevailing wage applies so the labor basis is stated correctly. When we provide quantities only, labor rates stay with your team.
  • Wildfire and wildland-urban interface areas: Sites in designated fire hazard areas may require ignition-resistant construction, such as specific vents, siding, decking and roof assemblies. We flag these assemblies when they appear in the documents.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have California staff or a California office?

No. American Estimate Hub works remotely from your digital plans. We do not maintain California offices, licenses or local field staff.

Can you include Title 24 and CALGreen items in a takeoff?

Yes, when they are shown in the drawings, specifications or compliance forms. We break out items such as insulation, high-performance glazing, lighting controls and EV infrastructure so they can be priced separately.

Can you prepare estimates for prevailing wage projects?

We can prepare quantities for any project. For priced estimates on public work, let us know when you request a quote that prevailing wage applies, and we will document the labor basis in our assumptions.
